Marianne’s Place was one of six local charities selected to receive a donation from the former Guelph Food Technology Centre (GFTC). In 2013, GFTC merged with NSF International to become one of the largest food safety certifiers in the world. Today, the combined NSF/GFTC is a global, independent, not-for-profit organization committed to protecting and improving human health and the environment on a global scale, providing services in standards development, product certification, auditing, education and risk management. Guelph, Ontario has been home to GFTC since 1994 and continues to be the head office for the combined NSF/GFTC. The GFTC Legacy Fund was established with the proceeds of sale from the merger of GFTC with NSF International. When the GFTC Legacy Fund Board of Directors approached the GFTC staff to make a donation on their behalf as an expression of appreciation for their efforts, overwhelming support was expressed for Marianne’s Place in the amount of $40,000.

We would like to thank the staff for selecting us and providing this most generous donation for the much needed replacement of our shelter’s kitchen countertops and camera security system.
