National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (also known as Orange Shirt Day) is taking place on Thursday September 30th. This is a day to reflect and honour survivors of the residential school systems, to remember the lives, languages, and cultures taken by them, and to acknowledge their impacts on Indigenous communities past, present and future. It is a day to lean into action, and I invite you all to wear orange on this day in solidarity.
Please join the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre for their National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Day Event featuring a sacred fire, drum circle, and crafts. This event is taking place on September 30th from 3:30-5:30pm at the Sacred Fire at Royal City Park in Guelph.
Participants are encouraged to wear orange in solidarity
