February 22nd is Human Trafficking Awareness Day and GW-Women in Crisis is once again bringing together experts from across the region for a virtual educational event. This year’s focus is “Addressing Human Trafficking: Trends, Challenges and Ways to Strengthen Our Communities.”
Join our panel of speakers as we discuss trends in human trafficking around Guelph and Wellington County, impacts on survivors and ways we can address trafficking in our communities. This year our panelist of experts include people working in a variety of anti-human trafficking positions, which will give us a range of perspectives on what we need to do to challenge exploitation in our region:
Raquel Hall, Intimate Partner Violence Caseworker with Victim Services Wellington
Olena Kania, Project Coordinator of Youth Activist Inc.’s “This is Human Trafficking” Campaign
Jaseth Purcell, Anti-Human Trafficking Counsellor with GW-Women in Crisis
Brooke-Lynn Riley, Victim Services Coordinator, Metis Nation of Ontario
This event will offer people an opportunity to ask questions and to learn about how trafficking works and how we can work to stop it. We hope to see you there!
