You are currently viewing Volunteering at Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis

Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis would not be able to carry out the work we do without the assistance of our many dedicated and generous volunteers. Each year alone, 10,000 volunteer hours help make a difference in the lives of women and children in our community. We are committed to ensuring that G-W Women in Crisis volunteers have a rewarding experience and that their skills and commitment are valued.

How to apply

Women in Crisis is in the very fortunate position of receiving many more application than we have positions available. All applications are screened by the Volunteer Program Manager and those that have the skills, experience and time availability that we are looking for will be contacted regarding attending a volunteer training session. Others will be notified by email that there are no suitable positions currently available and your application will be kept on file for 6 months.

Volunteer training courses are one night a week for 7 weeks (for a total of 21 hours) and volunteers are expected to attend every session. The in-depth training covers the dynamics of woman abuse and sexual violence and introduces the new volunteer to the various programs available at Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis.
