May 24 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Join us on May 24th from 10:00am – 1:30pm at the Red Pavilion at Riverside Park for a showcase of local art and writing by survivors of sexual violence.

May is Sexual Violence Prevention Month – a month when sexual assault centres host events to raise awareness about rising rates of sexual violence in Canada and to voice our support for those who have survived violence themselves.

“Celebrations of Survivorship” will feature an exhibit of local survivor art, poetry readings and a reading from Rachel Suhonos’ new memoir The Bees, as well as information tables and activities with local organizations that support people who have experienced sexual violence.

*Content Warning: the exhibit will focus on themes of sexual violence, violence, trauma and survivorship.
